Are invisalign braces worth the cost?

Asked by ItalianPrincess1217 (11979points) October 5th, 2011 from iPhone

I have always wanted perfect teeth but unfortunately my parents could never afford to get me braces when I was a kid. I’m considering invisalign braces in hopes that people wont really notice them. Have you, or someone you know, tried these braces? Were they as “invisible” as you hoped? About how much did they cost? Did they correct your teeth?

In the U.S., the cost of Invisalign treatment ranges from $3,500 to $8,000, with the national average at about $5,000

@ItalianPrincess1217 My husband got his braces as an adult, also. He did not opt for Invisalign, but for the tooth colored ceramic braces on some teeth (the rest were metal). Most people didn’t even notice them. Insurance paid for a good amount of the braces. If I recall correctly, out of pocket over time, the braces cost about $1800 with dental insurance picking up the rest.

Invisialalign costs about $4000+ depending on case. It is entirely dependant on patient cooperation such as many appointments, wearing specific number of hours, and so on. It does work but relies the patient completing the treatment regimen. It would be great for someone whom could afford it, and adhere to the many appointments required.

I think metal braces are cute.

They are if you’re someone who is able to wear them. Some cases are too complex. Being able to adequately brush, floss and take them off really is a luxury.
