The ancient ancestors of Abraham and Moses worshipped many gods, before their progeny finally “made a deal” with one God (or perhaps a combination of two, El and Yahweh). Before that moment of final monotheistic loyalty, who was God’s closest competitor?

They worshiped ancestor spirits actually. There was not a single competitor. There were many local deities.
Firstborns were often sacrificed to please ancestor spirits. Reference the story of Abraham and Isaac. The Abrahamiac God said that would no longer be required if the Jews were to follow him. It was called a “molech”.
Yahweh Elohim defeated various chaos spirits, including Leviathan and Tiamat.
I think the closest competitors depended on where you were; there were many. At the time of Abraham, the idea of one God was pretty radical.
If I’m not mistaken, one of the Hebrew names of God has a literal meaning something like “our favorite local deity.” (Can anyone confirm?)
As far as I know, the name meant “God of the Gods most High”
There’s more than one name.
In some locations, wasn’t it a coke bottle?
For man? Or for His throne?
“There is none else BUT Him, the left rejects what the right adducts.”
For man? Probably Pharaoh?
There were many. The list includes: An, Enlil, Enki, Ninhursag, Nanna (the moon), Nanna’s son Utu (the sun), and Nanna’s daughter Inanna, Ningirsu, Ishkur, Bel, Gibil, Ninurta (the god of thunder, lightening and the South Wind), Apsu, Mummu, Anshar, Shamash, Ningal, Ishkur, Adad, Hadad, Ishtar, Inanna, Bel, Marduk, Tiamat and Qingu.
Enlil, Enki, Utu, Ashur were all pretty big Mesopotamian deities at the time of Abraham.
And there was Chemosh, god of the Moabites, too.

I was expecting a South Park clip. I’m very disappointed in you :)
