With the death of Steve Jobs, can you Fluther techies tell us the future of Apple?
Unfortunate news. Steve Jobs died today after a long battle with cancer. As the face of Apple and its innovation, he is the main reason that Apple has rebounded after their slump in the 90s, what will Apple do to continue creating their innovative products?

Probably not much. He resigned as Apple CEO this past August, and his role had become more and more nominal than actual over the past few years due to health reasons.
Hopefully apple doesn’t go down the tubes like disney did after walt died.
Apple will continue to perform well for the foreseeable future. Jobs built a culture.
I’m sure he had lawyers, very VERY expensive lawyers to carry out plans for years and years to come. He’s probably paying God to work for HIM now
RIP Baby Doll… Thanks for all the music! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Apple will still come out with better gadgets. Jobs a good teacher.
Jony Ives is alive!
I don’t see this having too much effect on Apple, at least not for a few years. They made the mistake of straying from Jobs’ vision in the mid-‘90s and I doubt they will repeat that mistake. Also, Apple has become less of a company and more of a cult, so even if self-preservation doesn’t make them stay the course and do what they have been doing for the last few years (succeeding), the culture he created has enough momentum that he will still kind of run the place from beyond the grave.
Besides, with people like their Senior VP of Industrial Design (the aforementioned Jony Ives), it is safe to say that Steve Jobs was not the only great mind at Apple.
With the death of Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz many decades ago has Mercedes-Benz stopped creating their innovative products?
Steve Jobs was a genius. Both so are people born after him.
