What's the best Spa Treatment you've had?

Asked by wildflower (11180points) May 9th, 2008

Facial, body, hand&nail, feet….what did it include, how was it done?
I’m looking at going to a spa hotel in a week or so and would love to hear some suggestions for treatments.

I try to get a head-to-toe spa treatment once a year. It’s expensive, but worth it! I look through the spa’s menu for packages and then add whatever I feel might be missing… too often they leave out the scalp massage and that is one of the best parts! I also like to include paraffin treatments for my hands and feet… the heat feels so good and it leaves your skin so soft. So I like to start with a body scrub and then a wrap or steam tent (if you’re claustrophobic, see if you can do a soak instead). Then a full hour massage – I don’t prefer any technique, I just tell the therapist what areas are bothering me and request a more relaxing massage once those kinks have been worked out. Then the facial, and spa manicure & pedicure.

Most spas have websites that list their services. What city are you travelling to? Maybe the collective can recommend a place if you haven’t booked already. SpaFinder.com is also a useful resource.

Enjoy!!!

Thanks hearkat. That sounds divine :)
I didn’t list location, because I doubt there’s many in the collective with experience of spa’s in country Kerry or Cork in Ireland (?)........but I am looking to pick something from here

Not quite spa, but the first time I had acupuncture treatment, the feeling I had afterwards was beyond yoga bliss. All colors looked brighter, I felt totally rejuvenated.
