If I saw someone with a bowtie nowadays, I would think they were trying to be funny or make a comedic statement.
A lawyer that worked on my floor wore a bow tie daily. He was wacky. The bow tie was just the icing on the wackiness.
A tuxedo traditionally goes with a bow tie… and a good suit with a regular tie… Otherwise you look like Louis Farrakhan.
I’m the old broad who shall not be named and I like bow ties, I also like bolero ties. Regular ties are for suits.
With a tux, it’s gotta be a bow tie.
a hand tied bow tie. that’s what you wear with a tux
Is it for the prom kids to go with colored ties? Should I just go with the standard black tie since it will be dark early?
@Neizvestnaya For prom, I’d just go with black, unless the specific kid know exactly what alternative they’d like (for example, maybe that kid who’s just dying to wear a rainbow tie, or the kid who’s had his eye on the Darth Vader tie for years now…)
I’m going to go with This
I like bow ties better.
although even I am tired of the bow tie connection with Doctor Who…he’s not the first person to wear one!!
With a tux? A bow tie.
This looks very strange to me.
But of course it’s all just a matter of custom and fashion. This and this and this make every bit as much actual sense.
Bow tie with a tux, for sure. I’d go with classic black or white.
It should always be a bow tie with a tux.
I think that the bow tie makes the “tuxedo”
otherwise
I don’t recognize it as such
I like ties. Bow ties remind me of butlers and if you are in a tux at a wedding or prom you are hardly a butler.
Bow ties remind me of Stephen Fry.
