People who do not live in the USA: How much of your news coverage involves the United States?
I am curious after noticing that certain users state that they do not live in the United States, yet they are able to follow the political discussions with ease.
Is a lot of your news about the US? Can you give me a percentage amount, if only a guess?

Hmm, not much honestly but I do check out whats going on on a weekly basis? Percentage – 65% I guess.
Most of the news on the more popular channels is local or national. Those channels are sort of like your FOX though – not very reliable, and far too focussed on soft news.
There are a few channels with good local and international news coverage, and we get everything major from the US. I wouldn’t be able to guess a percentage… we’d get at least a few stories a night.
yep far too much, but then I generally watch world news :-/
We have most of the major networks available here in Canada. I can follow most of the discussion about the U.S. with ease because of this. It is important for me to know what is going on down there because it effects me given that the U.S. is still our biggest trading partner.
U.S news on the major networks is highly homogenized and heavily filtered. Local news is likely to be accurate but the only way to get a real idea about what is actually happening in the U.S. you need to look at the BBC, Free Speach TV, and Al Jezeera. You won’t get anything close to the news if you watch Fox.
@Ron_C, when my husband and I had Dish Network we were able to receive Free Speech TV. That is the one thing we missed when we had to stop Dish Network. We’ve never been able to find another news network available in the US that’s as unbiased. Usually now we need to turn to the BBC online to get anything that isn’t biased.
@GracieT FSTV is expanding, you may be able to demand it from your cable company. If there are not enough channels available, they can replace FOXNews.
