I just wonder about this sometimes.
I know a lot of people here actually Fluther at work and I was wondering if the NSFW title actually kept them away.

who has a job in this economy?
I can’t Fluther at work, but I do use the NSFW warning to keep myself from reading those questions when my oldest son is nearby.
Last place I worked nobody cared what others were doing in their breaks .. some were even watching porn yet nobody was disturbed by it. Working for AOL had it’s advantages but this was not one of them.
Makes no nevermind to me. No one cares what I do. Or don’t do.
@judochop I have three jobs. Nothing is stopping me!
@Seaofclouds I use it for that reason too. I use it when I’m near my siblings that are under 18.
No, there aren’t any pictures, just words. So, I just make sure no one can see the title of the question.
I think it depends on their employer’s computer-use policy.
I use it for a search engine. It takes you to a bunch of cartoons and stuff if you google NSFW.
I only use Fluther at work when I have my laptop (so I don’t peek at it from the computers at work.) Nobody monitors what I do between appointments, so I read the NSFW posts if I am interested in the question. If my supervisor is wandering around, then I try to keep the Internet in general minimized. I don’t want to get caught browsing.
I can’t access Fluther at work at all. In fact we’re allowed access to very few websites, mostly just business and motoring-related.
I do when I am on the reference desk, not when I am back in my office. All i would need is for the director or a student to oversee.
Definitely. I don’t know what you perverts are going to link to in your NSFW questions. ;)
My job blocks all but business related sites.
I don’t! My boss knows I fluther and has no problem with it providing I am on top of my work. If anyone is looking at my screen when I am reading/taking part in a NSFW Q then it is their own fault for being nosy!!!
Unless someone chooses to investigate my computer use, nobody would have a clue and given I don’t spend much time at work fluthering, nobody would complain anyway.
Many businesses use software that blocks sites using certain words. When these words are caught, a warning pops up. If you get too many of these warnings, it can result in warnings or even termination (if you’ve already had multiple warnings). These rules are often for the sake of preventing people from viewing pornography in the workplace, but many businesses don’t particularly care why you got the warning and aren’t going to look into pleas of “it’s just this Q&A site I go to on my breaks!” By keeping the target words off of those pages that jellies might look at without knowing what to expect, we provide a modicum of safety.
