What is the most unusual restaurant you have ever been to?
For a short time, Salt Lake City had a restaurant called “Hare Hollow.” Yes, its main fare was rabbit. Unusual enough, but the freaky thing was that they had their own bunnies out on the grounds, hopping around, and the big windows in the restaurant looked out on the grounds. Interesting. You could watch the bunnies while you eat their friends. I do a lot of traveling, and would like to hear of other not-mainstream restaurants to visit. Thanks!

That’s odd. All I can think about is how rabbits shit all over the place, and I wonder how they could get away with this without breaking some sort of health code.
@mrrich724 Maybe that’s why they aren’t in business anymore. Besides, how many people like rabbit!
In Denver, CO… Buckhorn Exchange. On the menu you can find rattlesnake, alligator, elk, ostrich and yak dishes…. while dining in a room filled with taxidermy (stuffed/mounted game birds and animals)
The Herbfarm outside of Seattle. Each dinner is nine courses of herb-infused dishes.
R.J. Gator’s was pretty great when they were still around. The blackened alligator-tail sammich was delicious. And the bartenders didn’t skimp on the liquor in your cocktails. Great happy-hour place.
@Seek_Kolinahr—-RJGator’s are still around, what location are you talking about?—
Well, I was talking specifically about the one in my area. They for some reason changed their name to “Alli Gators”, then shortly thereafter were gone forever.
@Skaggfacemutt the one’s I know are in the West Palm Beach, FL area…. and there’s nothing unusual about the place that I’ve been to…just another sports bar type eating establishment
Schwarz’s near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin is basically a steak house, but what is unusual about it is when you first walk in you go right up to the bar, the bartender will get you a drink if you want one, and eventually a waitress comes around and takes your food order. Eventually they call you to be seated. Once seated there is already some stuff on the table to nosh on, and eventually out comes your order. It’s pretty efficient, and they must make a lot of money with people waiting in the bar.
I have always wanted to eat here, but I haven’t yet.
They serve you dinner while you lie in bed.
The Rainforest Cafe at some mall in New Jersey. It’s elaborate animatronics and setting makes you feel like you’re eating in the midst of a lush tropical jungle.
