A song that you came across recently, reminding you of your teenage years?

Asked by Ayesha (6221points) October 20th, 2011

I came across a couple while on Youtube.
Wheatus- Teenage Dirtbag.
Simple Plan- I’m just a kid.
Sum 41— In too deep.

I’m still a teenager, but they reminded me of my early years. Felt good.

We listened to a lot of Blue Oyster Cult and Ted Nugent. Astronomy, Don’t Fear the Reaper, Cat Scratch Fever, Stormtroopin, Stranglehold.

I walked into a grocery store yesterday and heard “Listen to the Music” by the Doobie Brothers. Took me right back to the summer I graduated from high school.

Yesterday in the evening I listened to Stevie Wonder’s Songs In The Key Of Life.
One of them is Isn’t She Lovely.

Oh god, why did you have to remind me of Teenage Dirtbag?! I asked a boy in grade 5 or 6 to dance with me to this song at our yearly school disco and he said no, and I started crying like a loser…truly detest that song. :P

“Carry the Zero” by Built to Spill really brought back memories of simpler times. It’s really an incredible song.

I caught the end of Wise Up Sucker (Pop Will Eat Itself) playing in a local liquor store a few months ago.

Rimshak.
A handful of friends and I recently did a 90s music video-a-thon on Facebook recently. It was a huge trip down memory lane. I could probably list 100 songs to answer this question, but this was the one that sparked it all for me. (Man, their music is hard to find on YouTube.)

The Sweeney Todd soundtrack and Pink Floyd’s The Wall, in the same playlist, takes me to my fledgling teenage days several years ago.
