Is it the end of the world (as we know it) again?

Asked by Strauss (23835points) October 21st, 2011

Harold Camping has rescheduled his prediction of the end of the world. What if he’s right and we are all wrong?

Would it really matter?

If he passes away, another one would take his place citing mathematical errors for their mispredictions. And it could go on and on until our dear sun dies or a meteor finally arrives, looking at his watch saying, “Oh shoot I’m late! Harold Camping must be pissed!”

I suggest live your days like its your last. Enjoy. In other words, Fluther. ( wink )

If he’s right? Then it will be the end of the world. Poof!

You would think that the guy would have taken the stroke he suffered after the predictably failed prediction as a sign from above to stop making these predictions.

I showered this morning, just in case.

Make sure you take a towel.

Wait…that’s today! Well. I guess I better get some breakfast before it starts. I don’t have a THING to wear.

Odd that there were a couple of significant (but not major) earthquakes yesterday about five miles away from his radio station. Maybe he was using the wrong time zone again.

At some point the world as we know it will end. Be it you prefer the apocalyptic Bible version or the science’s end of things we use [oil/gases etc].

Sometimes I wish the world would end already, just so people stop making predictions.

If that guy, instead of Einstein, had made the mass–energy equivalence formula it porobably would have as an outcome F=vd4.

Well it’s passed the end of the world, and it hasn’t happened. Sometimes, I don’t think that people take it seriously enough. lawlx

Dutchess_III's avatar

It happened, @Symbeline. You just didn’t notice. PAY ATTENTION!!!

zenvelo's avatar

I heard today that Family Radio has taken down from their web-site any references to the rapture made by the Campings.

@Dutchess_III I deserve some credit for the end of it all goin on, and me not noticing it lol. :D

@zenvelo Too bad they don’t have the guts to apologize to every one they scared the crap out of…especially the kids with whacked-out parents.

Remember the last one, in May? There was a little 10 or 11 year old girl, the daughter of one of the nut cases, and she totally believed the world was going to end. To top that off, her father had told her she wouldn’t be one of the ones going to heaven…..

GracieT's avatar

@Dutchess_lll, please, oh please, by all that’s holy tell me someone prosecuted those parents for child abuse!

Dutchess_III's avatar

That’s all I heard about it. I sure hope someone did.

But what if it did happen, and we are deluded that I didn’t!
