How many inches of floss do you pull?
Three feet? 2 inches? I’m asking how much for each pull, not how much total for a session.

About 18 inches per pull. I like to use a fresh section of the floss for each tooth.
The one inch or so on those little floss pick thingies.
Ditto @Aethelflaed & @Hibernate. I keep a bag of them at my desk at work for after lunch or snacks, and I keep some handy near the couch as well, while I’m watching television and snacking there, too.
@CWOTUS I have a ziplock baggy in my car that has some of the floss thingys, and some safety pins (because, you never know when you’ll need a safety pin). It’s wonderful, because I often have to eat the last few bites of my breakfast in the car on my way to school.
Less than a foot, for sure. I prefer the floss picks but I am definitely stingy with floss.
Hahaha Such an interesting question. Probably like a foot. lol
3 feet and I wind it loosely around my finger and ravel the used portion on the other fingers from the other hand. Per tooth I do whatever I feel like… for the tight teeth I use smaller amounts.
I like @gondwanalon‘s answer best. It raises the question what is the most efficient way to go about flossing every tooth, with the least waste, using clean sections for each gap?
@talljasperman you really pull out three uninterrupted feet at a time?
If all or some of your teeth have large gaps does the dentist still advise flossing them??? Is there gap floss?

about ½ of an inch, I use oral-b floss picks… you can get way better reach with them and use less : )
