New vid card, new problems, can you help me out?

Well, I just got this video card for only $50 and it seems great! The only problem is that now Minecraft keeps running out of memory, and sometimes Windows defaults to the basic theme then switches back. All drivers are updated and all settings are default, so what’s going on? I have 3.5 gigs of ram on the C itself so I can’t be running out.
I do have an ATI video card in the second slot but it’s working fine alongside the massive one taking up all the free space in my PC XD

Do you have a 32 bit version of windows?
Have you tried taking the ATI card out of the other slot and seeing if you get the same problems? It might be some sort of conflict between the drivers to the two cards trying to address the same memory space.
Not yet, the problem is I am going to need both in since I am getting a third monitor, and the theme did glitch with just the one card.
nVidia and ATI at the same time… risky :/
I gotta go with @Lightlyseared here since there are certain memory addresses reserved for video, and having two sets of drivers vying for the same spot is a distinct possibility.
The other thing to remember is that 32 bit versions of windows can only address 4gb of memory in total and that includes memory on video cards etc. deepening on how much memory your ATI card has there may not be that much memory left for the rest of the system.
The card has 512, 3.5 recognized on the mobo and 896 on the EVGA
I have an HIS one with 512 but its worse than the ATI.
I’ve been meaning to torrent a 64 bit version so I can just upgrade, but I haven’t had the time and I might mess up the activation :(
Going to upgrade to 64 bit windows, the activation shouldn’t mess up or anything, and I think I remember whee to get all the drivers XD
I didn’t know that the ram limit included video cards.

Hmm, problem is back, do you think the HIS would work better alongside it?
Also, the fan o my PC blows out, but so do the case fan and vid car, should I revers the side one so more air gets in? Seems to maybe make sense.
