Did you use salycilic acid (acne spot treatment) during pregnancy?

I am 17 weeks and have been using an acne spot treatment by Origins. The only ingredient is salycilic acid. When I purchased the product I specifically asked the salesperson if it was safe to use during pregnancy (not very thorough research, I know). She said yes and I went ahead and started using the product. I was reading a fit pregnancy mag at the doctor’s office and it said DON’T use salycilic acid. Anyone else made this mistake?
