What are some super quick, but cool, costume ideas for a 4 year old boy?
I know we have lots of questions for last minute Halloween costumes, but this one is a bit different. Trick-or-treat is tomorrow, and my friend’s 4 year old son lost his costume. Or hid it. Or, who knows with a 4 year old.
So far we have a jellyfish, a bag of jellybeans, or a construction worker. None of which seem to be inspiring him. Any creative jellies with ideas?

How about Forest Ranger, Smokey the Bear, or some other tree hugger idea. Yeah, that’s me.
I had the same issue, sort of. My son rebelled and hates his costume all of a sudden.
Inspiration hit – Jedi.
yes, yes, shut up. Don’t worry, he’s a Trekkie first, but he’s really into the Lego Star Wars game right now
I cut a square the same size as his height from a poly-fleece blanket I had lying around, then turned that into a Jedi robe. Add white/beige shirt and khaki pants and badaboom.
It won’t win you any prizes at Comic Con, but it’ll work. ^_^
Mini-tutorial
If you approach of the construction worker as being bob the builder that may make it fly
The old stand by with a white sheet of a ghost may still fly these days especially if you approach it as being casper the friendly ghost
Crisis averted, he found the costume.
Thanks for the ideas!
@ANef_is_Enuf Awesome!!!!! now put it somewhere so he can’t hide it again lol
Mr Incredible. /Anyone of his family. (Dash is a good one) Google image it
Anything from DC comics; Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Hulk , etc.
Vampire
@creative1 I told him. If I pick him up tomorrow and he doesn’t have his costume, he’s definitely going in a sheet! lol.
@creative1 I dated a black guy who was born and raised in Selma, Alabama in the 50’s and 60’s. He saw a LOT of things go down, some good and some really, really bad during the civil rights movement. Anyway, it was Halloween and we were handing out candy. At one point Jerry said, “What is the deal with all the fancy costumes? When I was growin’ up in the projects we just threw a white sheet over our heads and called it good!”
I paused for a moment then said, ”...You went as the KKK?” I couldn’t resist!!! ; )
It’s late now, but the picture I’m using as my avatar is my daughter when she was 10. I pulled together stuff I had around the house and magically turned her into a princess. It took about an hour and I didn’t spend one single dime.
My son, 8 at the time, was a pirate. Again with just stuff I found around the house. The best effect was I put Vaseline on his chin and upper lip and patted coffee grinds on the Vaseline. Viola! Instant beard! Again, I just used stuff I had around the house and put it together in no time.
