I am looking for a quilt-focused website that is similar to knitty.com or purlbee.com. I am new to quilting and it seems like everything out there is for people over the age of 60 or for the Amish. I’d love to find something that appeals to a younger or more modern demographic! Any suggestions?

Have you hooked up with the Modern Quilt Guild? You might find a meet-up or local group, too. This is a wonderful site, too—even if you aren’t on the West Coast.
If you PM me with you area I can send you some more specific links, too. (For example, if you’re anywhere near the mid-west I know a LOT of excellent modern quilters.)
I’m a younger quilter, too (started in my 20s) and I actually found even my local quilt groups had pockets of embellishment focused or modern (abstract – less structured blocks) quilters. I hooked up with some cool women making their own dyes and hand-dyed fabrics for really beautiful modern quilts..and these days it seems crafty younger people out-number the retired set in our area. Depending on your area you might want to check out your local quilt guilds / Textile Art centers and see if you can find a group of like-minded folks.
