This post is just a “short story” : )

Yes, and I’m trying to participate this year, as volleyball season just ended and I’m a bit bored now.

I’ve done it twice, finished it once and gave up the second time because life at our house was just too complicated that year.

I enjoyed it. Wrote a completely uncharacteristic (for me) story of murder, deception, revenge, and international intrigue, with the bad guy as the main character. It was strangely liberating to be forced out of all my compulsive fussing over tiny details and precise word choices for a little while.

I would love to do it, but just don’t have the time to commit. It is on my list of goals though.

I participated once, it was challenging because my writing is primarily poetry, satire, humor. I am not a novel type, but, it was a great exercise in discipline. :-)
