How do I contact Netflix NOT using that stupid automated email maker they have?

Asked by keobooks (14327points) November 10th, 2011

My Roku has suddenly stopped recognizing Netflix after working perfectly over six months.

It keeps asking for a confirmation code. When I go online and give it a confirmation code, the website says that Roku Netflix is activated and working. I turn on Roku and Netflix asks for another confirmation code.

When I try to contact Netflix, I can’t seem to find any way on the site to explain what’s going on. They have a troubleshooting bot that I am required to go through and none of the questions it asks covers this problem. I just keep getting told to get a confirmation code and everything will be solved.

How can I get a message sent that actually lets me explain the real problem?

It sounds more like a problem with the device or service than netflix.

Click Your Account & Help in the top left.

At the bottom of the page is a “help box” with a Contact Us link, click that link.

A Contact Us page loads, the last option is Call Customer Service, click that and get phone number. I get: 1 (888) 811–1933 and a customer code “for faster service”.

I’ve used that in the past to get issues solved when their online support didn’t cut it. Though they sometimes take a while to figure it out.

Also, if you click “Manage Netflix ready devices and computers” from the “your account” screen you get the option to disable devices. Maybe disabling then reactivating with your code will help. That helped me with a troublesome PS3 setup.

There are people at Netflix?

@janbb Netflix is entirely staffed by ninjas.

I would agree that it sounds like something with the Roku box and not netflix.

But isn’t the Roku box provided by Netflix so shouldn’t @keobooks go to them anyway?

Here’s a number for Roku too.

888–600-7658

Their customer service gets mixed reviews on gethuman.com

Some people have found them very helpful and some have not.

gethuman is a great place, a great resource for finding company numbers and they have tricks and tips for getting connected to an actual human being as fast as possible, often completely circumventing the automated system If you’re set up for it, you can dial a number directly from their website. They also have an iPhone app that lets you access their database of numbers and just push the little button and call.

Not trying to spam, I no vested interest here, I am just a big fan of gethuman.com, their information has saved my sanity more than once by providing me a way to completely bypass those maddening automated systems and get a real person. It doesn’t always work, just more than enough time to at least make it worth it to me to check them first.
