It does look like this question was asked before but I wanted to ask again since it’s been about a year and a half. I needed some information and stumbled across this site. I had no idea it had existed or I would have joined long ago. I love it. Most of the people are so nice, helpful and welcoming! I would love to hear from you long-time jellies as well as new members!

A chance meeting—- strangers in the night.
@smilingheart1, I should have included asking when you joined. Thanks for responding!
Too many cherry tomatoes.
Sept 2009.
My previous e-home, AiROW, got shut down and a whole bunch of us migrated here.
AiROW came back after three years (it’s called Jyver now) but I stuck around Fluther because I had grown fond. I visit both now.
A ex-Jelly told me about the site. I lurked for a long time before joining in August 2010.
KatawaGrey dragged me in in July 2010. I resisted for months, but she’s such a cutie patootie and I am not at all biased I couldn’t resist! She needed someone to gossip with about all you guys. And we do, yes indeedy, gossip we do!
I came across this site when the site AiROW closed down, some of the users found this place as a substitute and invited me along, there are a few old AiROWians here.
My mom is the one and only Augustlan and my sisters are here too. I heard about it all the time before I was old enough to join. When I was, I looked around a little and decided I liked it. I started March 11th of this year.
I was being chased by a pride of peanutbutter fish that were <———that’s some weak stuff there, so I’m not going to bother completing it. ;-p
@laineybug : You and me, Sweetie, the queens of caving in to family pressure!!! ;-)
@Brian1946, I love your sense of humor…I always appreciate your answers!
A lot of us joined in the Great Answerbag Diaspora of December 2009. (Well, that was when I joined with my first ID, anyway.)
@CWOTUS I remember the whole Answerbag Migration Gate, I was too new to the site, as were most of the old AiROWians to get what the issue was but I remember all the drama, I kinda miss the drama days, but then I don’t keep up with the site like I used to so I would probably still miss any drama even if it was here
Wis.dm shut down and a number of us migrated to Fluther.
Welcome to Fluther! I came because of a job I was working on trying to get more profile for a Web site through social networking.
I fell in love with the site and never looked back!
Wis.dm collapsed, someone told me to come here.
Symbeline and Vuhnessa brought me here. Blame them. LOL
You guys are too much fun! LOL
Answerbag died a horrible, painful, drawn out death.
I was dragged here, kicking and screaming, by a group of vicious lemurs A site called wis.dm crashed and a bunch of us migrated here.
There was a big kerfluffle on Askville and many of us came here at the behest of PnL. Some of us stayed, though I wish there were more. (Well, more of some people anyway!) I stayed because the conversations were fun, helpful, interesting and/or intriguing.
It was an accident, actually.
I was Googling something, and Fluther popped up. I don’t even remember, really. O.o
No drama here, @RareDenver. But I can tell you how to start some…
I came from Answerbag. I’d also like to take the time to say, AB sucks. Fluther rules. Kinda glad AB messed up, or I may not have been convinced to come here.
@Mariah Haha what the heck is this Jyver place? I’m exploring it now.
Demolition sites. Really.
@Symbeline. Seriously. I was writing something and wanted to know what sort of stuff you might find on a demolition site and what they smell like etc. I can’t name the jelly, but one of our fold has great experience in this field and particularly helped me a lot.
Followed a friend here. She left, I’m still here sometimes.
Well it is nice that you are here sometimes @wordsmythe.
@Symbeline It used to be called AiROW, which stood for Am I Right Or Wrong?; people post statements and you tell ‘em whether they’re right or wrong. Some epic shit goes down because it’s essentially unmoderated, lol.
@Mariah Why are most groups empty? And how come ’‘If you love Mortal Kombat…’’ is reproduced like seven times?
…I signed up. :D
I was in a punk cover band called Fluther. My wife stumbled across this site as a result and joined. I followed suit shortly thereafter, mostly because I was frustrated one couldn’t consistently get a solid, in-depth discussion going on facebook.
@Symbeline Hmm, I’m thinking it’s because groups were a relatively new feature when the site went down, and it hasn’t been reincarnated for long. Posts in groups get posted to the home page anyhow, so it’s more of a categorical system, I guess. Anyway, cool that you signed up! :D
Jet lag.
In a stupor after a return from an overseas vacation and stumbled across fluther. Still here after 20 months. :-)
My S/O told me to join. So I did, and I love this site. :)
I came for the lurve, awards and fun. Stayed for the jellies.
I stayed to see what @zensky‘s next incarnation will be.
Takes one to know one, Cy.
Yes, twas a broadband internet connection that brought me here….eeeh, the things they can do today!
I stumbled on an article about the site, on some other (completely unrelated) site. Read the article, watched a video about it, and popped in to check it out. That was in 2008, and I never left. Now I work here!
My husband stumbled upon the site and mentioned the name to me. That sexy A above me ^^ welcomed me with a big ol’ hug when I joined and I’ve been hooked ever since. =)
I joined Dec. 11, 2008. My 3 yr flutherversary will be in a month.
Someone on Askville mentioned it. I came and didn’t do much for a year or so. Then Askville changed their format and I couldn’t stand to be there anymore so I stay here now. MUCH better all around. I wish I switched sooner.
I don’t remember how I found Fluther, but my husband and many of my friends wish I hadn’t! I am constantly on it- both my iPhone and iPad have Fluther apps, in addition to my laptop.
I googled a topic several tears ago and I found this blog site by chance where people were actually discussing the topic I was looking for, all by chance. I didn’t migrate from anywhere since fluther was my first blogging site I ever joined.
I took a break for personal reasons and to try other sites so I took alot of things into consideration before coming back. Answerbag looks like an amped up version of ‘the lost art of manliness’ and Sodahead combined in one shot so after looking at the posts on there it was not a site that I even considered joining. I still post on Scepcop (paranormal forum), wordpress blogs, Michael Prescott blogs and Sodahead but I took a brief break from the latter for now.
update: I imagine I found Fluther through the magazine Mental Floss. I’m still VERY glad to have found it- I spend hours on here. Rather addicting site- if you can’t find me or I’m not in the conversation chances are good it is because I’m on Fluther.
Airsoft, I was randomly looking on sites, and there was a hunting question here…
As soon as I read the question, I was like… BAM. I want to be a part of this site.
And here I am. :P
