Men, what did your mothers tell you about women and how to handle them?
Companion question to the previous question I asked.
Men, did your mothers teach you anything about girls? Did they every talk about how to treat them, or what to watch out for? Or did they never say anything? If not, did your fathers say anything? Did you learn anything overt (instead of by example) from your parents about how to treat women?

Don’t get them pregnant. That was honestly pretty much it. As far as etiquette, I was essentially raised by multiple women, but I can’t remember them telling me anything. Maybe growing up around them already gave me an upper hand? I never had to be told to be respectful.
My mother would often quote this song lyric….....
“If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So from my personal point of view
Get an ugly girl to marry you”
Now, bless you mama & i’m sure you meant well, but fuck that!!
I guess I got the best of both world’s, a pretty gal & I wound up happy.
I asked my husband, and he says neither parent ever talked to him about this kind of thing. I find that so odd, as a parent. I’ve definitely talked to my girls over the years about relationships and boys.
I was told not to marry them just get the milk for free.
My mom’s basic advice about anything, oft repeated, was; “If all else fails, use your head.” I don’t think she meant that in the way I have applied it with women, but I have found that my literal interpretation works just great with most of them. :-)
