Which great grater is greatest?

Asked by ETpro (34605points) November 13th, 2011

I have a grater, but it’s not that great. I recently needed some grated lemon peel, and my grater seemed more adopted to grating finger flesh, not citrus peeling. So I have a great need for a greater grater. Which great grater is the greatest?

This lemon zester isn’t bad.

Neither is this.

I recently transported this it comes with three or four different graters that fit in the holder from the kitchen drawer where it was only blocking the drawer from opening to a place where I keep stuff that I never use.
It seems perfect for your use, since it is easy to use without danger that your great fingers get grated.

This question title confuses me

I’ve used the traditional zesters, but the long, thicker than desired & curly peelings I get from it are not helpful in most recipes. After buying a microplaner, I haven’t touched the old zester since. It works wonders on citrus fruits, cheeses, chocolates, etc. Sharp as the devil’s toenails – be careful with it!

by the way.. whatcha makin’ for us? :)

Thanks everyone. It couldn’t be plainer that I need to snag a Microplaner.

I second @rebbel choice. I have the all metal version with the immortal word ‘mouli’ stamped on it. A greater grater will never grace your drawer

I second @rpm_pseud0name‘s microplaner. It grates great!
