They are making a big screen Doctor Who movie, who should play him?
The current actor? A previous one? Someone new?
My understanding it will be a standalone feature.

MIlo here; Me, of course.
And Steven Moffat is going to the moon.
The internet is just being crazy.
^^ But do I get to keep Karen Gillan?
pshaw,
I’ll have Jonathan Pryce as the Master, resurrect John Pertwee as the Doctor. He’ll have a cabbage on his shoulder as a companion and the whole thing will be a celebrity historical featuring the return of the Mandrils.
*I have no idea what I’m talking about. I just listen to a lot of Radio Free Skaro.
I want Hugh Laurie to play the Doctor! Can you imagine? Even though I think this movie sounds like an awful, terrible, horrific idea.
@Imadethisupwithnoforethought Yes. The 10th doctor meets up with Amy Pond (and Rory, of course), Martha Jones, Captain Jack Harkness and that sexy cat burglar chick from Planet of the Dead.
Everybody’s happy.
@martianspringtime Hugh Laurie would be an oddly appropriate choice now that I think about it.
@Blueroses I want to read your fan fiction sometime.:)
I think Nicholas Cage would do a good job.
“NOT THE DALEKS!! OH MY GOD NOT THE DALEKS”
Or….get these guys to do the whole thing.
Just think about it. Think about it.
@AshLeigh ^^^that is so nice! But he wants to be ginger next time.
@AshLeigh I am on board for you. You have to get an accent though. From the “North”.
@fundevogel thank you. I don’t watch enough sock puppet theater. :)
@Blueroses I was with you right up until Martha Jones. No.
What if…just hear me out, we get Auton Mickey, Flesh Amy, Meglos and Salamander all on the TARDIS and we just see what happens.
*still don’t know what the heck I’m talking about
@FutureMemory you went the Harry Potter guy, the guy who was Watson in Sherlock Holmes, redhead teenage girl, to Brad Pitt?
@FutureMemory No!! Wrong! You don’t watch the show, you don’t get a vote! :P
It clearly has to be Tennant. All other suggestions are unacceptable. <covers ears and sings lalalalalalala>
Kenneth Branaugh. You know I’m right.
I am still cannot unsee from Hugh Laurie ladies…
I’d be alright with a Tennant/Laurie, Jekyll & Hyde, Good Doctor/Bad Doctor plot device.
@Blueroses And then Good Doctor and Bad Doctor decide to make nice-nice, grab Barrowman, and head for “personal quarters” to “make up” like adults?
Conrad Murray, as the Jackson family now call him “Dr.Who?”
I liked the cheap & cheerful low budget movies of the sixties starring the legend that was Peter Cushing in the lead role.
I have no idea which actor should play him. I don’t watch the show, as Blueroses stated…I’m just foolin’ around with you guys.
You may now return to your regularly scheduled nerd-fest.
I am totally going to set up a schedule for nerdfests! Maybe every Thursday….
I have a friend I get together with at least once a week solely for the purpose of nerding out. It’s awesome.
Yeah, @Blueroses nailed it. Tennant, or maybe Tennant. And hey, did anyone suggest Tennant?
@Simone_De_Beauvoir I agree! I think it would be a bit odd at first to see Daniel Radcliffe in such a big defining role after he’s been in a different one for so long, but I think he’d be perfect. Every time I watch an interview he’s partaking in, I think he’d be a really great Doctor.
