Will they get Justice Thomas this time?

Asked by wundayatta (58741points) November 18th, 2011

Now there are accusations that Supreme Court Justice Thomas is not filling out his financial disclosure forms properly. He has checked off the box saying his spouse makes no income when she has been receiving income from the Heritage Foundation and for the Tea Party lobbying group Liberty Central, which she helped found.

Are you outraged, or do you think this is another tempest in a teapot where liberals are once again picking nits? What is your prediction about what will happen here?

I don’t think this is a tempest in a teapot. Isn’t his wife lobbying on behalf of organizations that have directly benefited from Thomas’ rulings? That’s flat-out corruption.

And Thomas is the most absolutely worthless justice on the court.

There appears to be about a 25% error rate on financial disclosures throughout congress. We didn’t seem to have a problem with all the tax discrepancies even when it was the head of the IRS.

No where in this article does it tell us the amount of the discrepancy. That would seem important. I vote ‘Tempest in a Teapot’.

I’ve always really disliked this guy. I can’t believe he got in after that “pubic hair in my coke” scandal way back when.

I hope so.

He should have never been put on the court to begin with.

Hopefully, the next election goes well, and we can impeach him during the next session.

Not a snowball’s chance in Hell so long as Republicans control the House and have a cloture proof minority in the Senate. He’d have to be caught red handed robbing a bank or killing someone to be at any risk. There’s fodder to impeach if Democrats gains back full control of Congress, though.

I think they will pay their taxes and life will go on.
