What is your favorite Madonna song?

Asked by mazingerz88 (29260points) November 22nd, 2011

Ok so it’s been a while since the 80’s when she reigned queen, imo. Yet when I listen to her songs, it brings me back to the good ol days of America’s golden pop music era, again, imo.

To me, it was quite euphoric. Ecstasy minus any drugs. Borderline’s one of her greatest but my all time favorite is Shoo-Bee-Doo!

Kept listening to that in the jukebox over and over again while playing pool with my friends. Have you heard that one?

@mazingerz88 Another two thumbs down.

It’s a toss up between Ray of Light and Get Into the Groove

@Kardamom Does Madonna make you feel..what was the word..Sparky! Nah I’m kidding, she doesn’t make anyone feel sparky..hopefully..

Sorry, Madonna was a glittery distraction during one of the worst decades of pop/rock and roll.

“Hey Mr.DJ put a record on I wanna dance with my babeyy!”
What! It’s catchy!

I was barely alive. My 80’s listening is enthusiastic but almost completely limited to bands like the Birthday Party and the Violent Femmes.

Old stuff : Like A Prayer
Stuff made later on : Hung Up.

@Luiveton No, Madonna is definitely not on my sparky list LOL.

The only other person besides Fran Drescher that gives me that feeling is Cote de Pablo from NCIS. See Why

Another one for Like A Prayer.

Material Girl, it’s a song I listen to when I’m in the right mood, usually followed by Girls Just Want To Have Fun, and It’s My Party And I’ll Cry If I Want To.

Yea… I can be real gay in my music choices some times.

@Kardamom

I challenge you to find a food-related Madonna song, either literally or by pun. ;-)

I think that Madonna’s greatest performance was when she played Evita in the musical. This is a good example

@poisonedantidote I love guys that have “gay taste” in music! I hope you also like It’s Raining Men

@Brian1946 The only thing I can think of is “Now I’m Purgin’ being stuffed for the very last time. Now I’m purrrrrgin’, got to the toilet, just in time.” Sorry, that’s all I got LOL.

@Kardamom

How about something related to “Like a Sturgeon”?

I love Madonna. I love the songs she did in Evita, but I guess they don’t really count as her songs. I think Lucky Star was my first favourite Madonna song, so that always sticks with me, though if I heard it for the first time now it might not be.

That techno song ‘Music’.

Hung Up
How can you not like Madonna? I love her older stuff, and her newer stuff, but I love this song.

poisonedantidote's avatar

@Kardamom Yea, it’s raining men is a good song, I like it because I’m a fan of powerful voices.

Dear Jessie tops the list for the lyrics and instrumental mix. Take a Bow is another. Gad, what a sexy video.

“Crazy For You”. It’s the perfect ‘80’s prom song.

I don’t care for her, but she did a good job on the song Sooner Or Later in the movie Dick Tracy.

I bought every cassette tape of hers in the 80s when I was a teen. I’d have to go with Like A Virgin.

For years my favourite was Papa Don’t Preach. Now it’s probably Crazy For You. I also love La Isla Bonita and Spanish Eyes. My mum was a massive Madonna fan when I was a kid. I can’t say I’m a fan (I certainly don’t think her voice is all that great) but I repect that she has stood the test of time.
