For those of you that decorate a loved one's grave, do you decorate for the changing seasons or holidays?

I put flowers for the different seasons on my parents’ gravesite. Spring flowers, fall flowers, a flag for my dad for veterans day. I noticed some people really go all out and even put a Christmas tree complete with lights lots of batteries I guess. Do you decorate and what type of decorations do you use?

Visiting graves of loved ones isn’t a custom in our family, but when my last grandmother died I had the intention to start it.
The first time I visited her, after one or two years, I just stood there, feeling nothing (as opposed to when I pass her old house which was five houses down of my parents’ or when I see stuff that reminds me of her, or when she just visits me in my mind).
Two years ago though, when I visited the grave again, now together with my girlfriend I broke out in a childs cry.
To answer your decoration question: no, I don’t do that, neither does my mum (her daughter).
When my parents were alive, I did everything I could to make their last days on earth as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The memory of my parents lies within my soul and not at their gravesite.
No flowers for them. I gave them flowers when they were alive and could enjoy them.
Laying flowers on a persons grave is okay. I am sure they realize and appreciate your loss of them.
I don’t decorate their gravesites for any season or holiday specifically but I do try to make sure that the eternal lights and flags are lit and in decent shape. I try not to dwell to much on the gravesites (or visiting them too much) since according to my beliefs I’ve read that overgreiving can keep the spirits of our loved ones from advancing in the spiritual realms. I do what little I do to the gravesites out of basic respect.
I don’t decorate graves. I just see that as the place the body is buried. I’m going to have to think about this a little.
When I get to visit my father and sister’s grave in Ohio, I always get flowers to honor them. It is a spiritual journey for me. They died when I was a toddler, and less.
