Which song starts with bells?

A friend is looking for a song which she heard several years ago (I assume it’s a big 60s hit, but could be wrong). She tried humming the melody, but nothing springs to mind.
The most characteristic clue is that it starts with the sound of bells (the only song I can think of is AC/DC’s “Hell’s Bells” here, but that’s not it). After that there is a piano, and it’s quite slow and melodic, possibly a love song, sung by a man with a deep sweet voice.
So our clues are: man singing a love song on the piano, introduction has bells in it.
Does that ring any bells?

John Lennon’s Mother qualifies, but I doubt that was it.
Also, Robin Trower’s Bridge of Sighs, though that is more guitar than piano.
Sleigh Ride (most versions start with bells)
Is it a Christmas song?

Jinge Bells
Oldie of White Christmas I think by The Drifters
Please Come Home For Christmas
@john I don’t think it was a Christmas song, though I haven’t heard it myself, so I can’t be sure. I have had this suspicion though, because of the bells.
‘The way she described it made me wonder whether Ray Charles has some song with bells, it must have been that sort of music. She’s sure it’s a song with piano, quite slow.
Thanks for the answers so far, I’ll keep looking.
Okay, any other info would be helpful. She said it was an oldie?
No bells in this, but the rest of your description (and the several Christmas references) remind me strongly of this non-Christmas song by Nina Simone: Little Girl Blue… and I imagine the piano intro could be mis-remembered as bells.
Eagles…..Please Come Home For Christmas
If this is not it, it’s still my favorite Christmas song. Original was by Charles Brown in the 60s.
Thank you all very much for the effort, still not it. My friend hummed the melody, but I didn’t write it down or anything, perhaps if she remembers a couple of key words it will help.
Her clues are not that helpful, all she remembers is that it’s several years old and that the guy had a deep voice and the main intrument was the piano.
Could it possibly be John Lennon’s Just Like Starting Over? Although the beginning thing sounds more like a wine glass being tapped rather than a bell.
Oh, I think I may have found it! What about Paul McCartney and Wings Let ‘Em In? (It has a bell, or rather tubular bells and then a piano, and then Paul’s beautiful voice).
Also elton johns funeral for a friend/love lies bleeding starts with bells tolling and goes into piano

what about Tubular Bells, early 70’s from Exorcist?
Daft Punk – One More Time / Aerodynamic
This probably isn’t it, but it’s all I can think of at the moment….and unfortunately due to the insane amount of stupid people who feel the need to put their personal remixes on YouTube, this was the closest version of Aerodynamic that I could find from my phone, I’m sorry, but it has the bells in the begining and eventually switches from one more time to Aerodynamic….
Donnie Brooks – Mission Bell
@Jack79, did you ever get your answer?
Black Sabbath – Black Sabbath
No. Really?
Probably Barry White, an I’ll bet it’s not bells, but violins as the intro to:
I can’t get enough of your love, baby!
A strange thing happens to womens cloths when Barry White sings…they fall off!
I swear! It’s sooo cool!
@EmptyNest no, I’m sorry to say, I kept looking around the internet myself, but my friend didn’t give me enough to go on, and her sketchy recollection of the song’s melody wasn’t that helpful either. She ended up preparing John Lennon’s “Imagine” (which I think was a bad choice for what she needed it for).
Thanks for your ideas though. I’ll write the answer if I discover it myself.
All I want for Christmas is you – By Meriah Carey , starts with bells , haha
All sorts of Christmas songs start with bells, but I don’t think it was a Christmas song, and we’ll never find out what it was, unless my friend hears it on the radio someday and recognises it. I have the suspicion that it’s some really really famous hit that nobody seems to remember anymore.
Surely you’ve gotten an answer to your question….. If you haven’t, then it’s probably “Funeral For a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding in My Hand” by Elton John.
