For my tech. mavens: Is there a site for track pad use instruction for a first-time Mac book owner?

Asked by gailcalled (54647points) November 30th, 2011

I bought a Macbook Air on Monday at the Mall. The Apple store was mobbed and I got only minimal tips for using the track pad. I can use trial-and-error, but I also have to get used to OSX Lion. It is giving me a headache. Any thoughts?

(My first trip to a mall in six months. We got a flat tire on the highway in a rural area, I had to pee in the woods, and my cell phone had no charge. Lucky that my daughter was with me.)

Edit: I mean “touch pad.”

Go to your SETTINGS (Gears icon in your dock) and select “Track Pad ” you will find mini video tutorials and can select each gesture you wish. I have learned to use them all and love them!

Congrats on the Air!

@Dog: I was mistaken when I ask for info about a track pad. I meant “touch pad.” The item in the Mac Preferences is a track pad and requires a Bluetooth.

I am talking about the square thing at the bottom of the Air that you rub, poke, click on and snatch invisible fleas from.

I can’ t figure out how to do simple things such as highlighting, copy and paste, and finding the widget page.

@Lightlyseared: Yes. That is a perfect start. I also found a pdf manual that shouldn’t take me more than three or four months to read.

Thank you
