Have you ever heard of a website that buys your old cell phone?
I’m not sure if this is a good idea. Usually I just trade my phone in to Sprint when I want a new one. Is this a good idea? Can I trust this??

There are many legit ones. I got $140 from Gazelle for my 2-year-old, somewhat dinged-up iPhone 3GS. They will also recycle old electronics.
What are your concerns that make it not a “good idea”? If you’re worried about the data on your phones all phones have a wipe ability to clean out all the data on your phone.
There are a few reputable sites if you want to do this, Gazelle is one. You tell em what you have on the website, they give you an estimate and ship you a box, you send it back and they analyze it and if they feel they lowballed you in the estimate they’ll even credit you. From there they either fix it up and resell, or if it’s too damaged or unsellable, they’ll legally and ethically recycle it.
If you’re not concerned about money, there are organizations that collect old/used cell phones that they refurbish to give to women who are in abusive situations so they can have a lifeline for emergency help.
Also, welcome :3
try eBay or craigslist, you’re likely to get more money for the phone there, because its going to an individual…. as opposed to those “trade-in” sites which are looking to make a profit on top of what they give you, so you get less in order for them to sell it for a higher price. for ex. a used iPhone can go anywhere from $200 – 700+ on eBay, while a trade-in site will give you half that.
Thanks everyone. I’ll give it a try!!
