Can I give my "livingsocial" voucher to someone else if I did not specify it as a gift when I purchased it?

I bought a San Diego LivingSocial Voucher for hair removal in August in my name, but I would like to give it as a gift to a friend. Do I need to be there when they take it in to the salon, or call the salon first just to confirm and acknowledge the situation, or do I actually have to use it since it is in my name??? This is my first LivingSocial Coupon and I am a bit confused about the “fine print”. I am going out of town for the holidays and want to deal with it before-hand… Does anyone out there have any experience with this? Thank you!
