What do they do with all the food on the cooking shows on tv?

The food that the star chefs like Giada, Rachael, and Paula prepare on the show.
Do they throw it away or eat it or what do they with it all?

Eat it themselves. Give it to the crew, (Off camera).
Probably depends on the health codes in the states where the shows are produced. Ayesha is on target I would guess.
Yes, probably share it with the crew.
I imagine they have to have their stage kitchens licensed and inspected by the health dept. in order to share any prepared foods.
Pretty basic health code regulations.
There was a story in my area a few years ago where a woman was prevented from making meals in her home to hand out to the homeless because she was not preparing them in a commercial kitchen under code.
Can’t cook a turkey in your home and hand out sandwiches to homeless people that eat whatever they can manage to find or beg. Insane!
Well, in hell’s kitchen, a lot of it is thrown away. On cam.
I’ve seen a few shows where they keep rolling after the show is officially over. Usually it shows the crew and star divvying it up.
I did some work on a locally-produced cooking show a couple years ago. Most of the food was eaten by the crew (myself included).
