What did you think of Nina from the movie Black Swan?
I was totally immersed in it and amazed at how much I identified with her…her shyness, repression, perfectionism, sheltered life. Yet wanting to be free at the same time. I’ve even fantasized about someone like Lily coming alonga nd breaking me out of my shell so I wouldn’t be trapped anymore…so it was scary how much I related to her. I just hope I don’t go insane heh.
Anyway what were your thoughts on her? Did you feel bad for her?
What do you think she really wanted??

She wanted perfection. She was afraid of playing the role, knowing that she was so repressed and unable to portray the Black Swan correctly. Only in the final moments of the film is she truly happy.
Her mother was crazy and so was she, I’d say double Borderline personality disorders. lol
According to my wife, nowhere near as hot as Phoebe Cates in Fast Times At Ridgemont High.

I see Nina as a modern representation of Jeckyll and Hyde—someone who struggles with the internal war between the Good and Right (but entrapping) and the Evil and Wrong (but freeing).
I thought she was one nice pice of ass.
Oh, she be a pice, tat one.
Welcome to fludder.
Honestly? This is not meant to offend you (as you identify with Nina) but seeing as you asked what I thought of that particular character, I found her a bit pathetic! I didn’t enjoy Black Swan as much as I had hoped :(
I definitely found Nina and Black Swan easy to empathize with. It perfectly embodied anxiety. But I guess the core of it is, that that behaviour is inevitably destructive.
