What impact does fantasy football have on football?

Do you think players and coaches watch it, or are influenced and motivated by it, as well as referees. How much impact does it have on the game. Does it influence quarterbacks? I look to hear my conspiratorial inclination dismissed.
I guess there are maybe 15 people that participate here, tops; but, it is a question that bugs me, and I thought I would throw it out there.
I guess I will find out.

I’d say no. The only motivation might be for a player to increase his own fantasy value, but they usually want to improve their stats anyways.
And I would hope there are more than 15 people playing fantasy football on here.
I’d love an explanation from someone. I could google it but in a nutshell…
Just a guess, maybe a bad one, but certainly the point is there. After being in a league for a few years now I just sense there is an influence. I mean a QB can sneak it in, at the expense of taking an unnecessary beating for it, or he can easily throw it to the underachieving TE.
I have been watching football for many years and played it in my youth, and something just don’t seem right.
No. None whatever. What would be a coach’s or player’s motivation to do something good (or go in the tank) “for the fantasy league”? It’s not as if there’s a payoff to them to pad or go easy on stats, as there has been in gambling-influenced games and leagues.
It’s quite a preposterous idea to me that there would be any effect on the real game from the fantasy game.
The answer lies in what happens weeks 16 and 17 when a team has clenched a certain spot in the playoffs: The team rests their top players. I sincerely doubt that with all that is on the line in Pro Football that any coach or player is going to try to influence fantasy points. There is simply no money in it for anyone.
Well, that is optimistic to hear. I know one NFL player complained about how all that his coaches were interested in was there FF league -I found that interesting. I think when big egos are involved, when money is no longer an issue or most NFL players make more money than sin, and they are trouncing there opponent, maybe the QB decides I’ll take it in myself instead of throwing it to a wide open rookie TE in the end zone for egoic reasons.
I think it would be very interesting if, say, Tennessee was playing Houston, and the Tennessee coach was winning big time, and ran a play that would be best defensing the pass when he thought it most likely Houston would be running the ball, just to let Foster get some yards for his fantasy team.
A bit of hope to see Indiana win twice. and my Minnesota win, which is another question-do teams shut down to get a top draft pick, probably not. My Vikings are obviously not in the running now for that anymore-shucks.
