After five Vodka Tonics (Kettle One), I mistakenly sipped my brothers Beam and Water... I hate whiskey... but now, all I taste is whiskey... why?

How is it that after numerous Vodka Tonics have been consumed, and in the midst of my outing, mistakenly sipping my brothers Jim Beam and Water, my after taste from the evening is nothing but whiskey? I hate whiskey!
_________

btw… I don’t drink all the time. We won a large account today and were out celebrating the close.

Vodka has no flavor of its own, unless it has been flavored with something. Whiskey has a distinct flavor of its own. And if you drank the whiskey after the vodka, it would be prevalent on your tongue.

At that point, why do you care?

Vodka has flavor….
You dislike the flavor of watered down whiskey so much that it is all you can taste….It is a very strong flavor.
Sort of like eating a sausage after tasting bread. Two different ends of the spectrum. One is flavored with wood, the other is flavored with wheat and copper.
