English, some French, a little Yiddish and a little Hebrew
Two. English and Spanish. My Spanish is good not great.
One. I’ve found learning another language to be way too difficult and time consuming. Others may disagree.
Fluently? One, english (of the American variety).
I could muddle my way through in German if need be.
English and I’m learning French.
Just one, and I can’t even roll my Rs. Thanks, America… Oh, I speak a little French.
Greek, English, German, and I’m also trying to learn Finnish
Spanish, English, Italian and a very rusty German.
4… English [ native tongue ], Vietnamese, Spanish, Japanese [ very rusty now ]
Mother tongue is English. I speak rather proficient French: I can conduct business, travel with no problem and hold pretty involved conversations, though I am by no means fluent. And I’m learning Dutch.
So far I’m ‘business-proficient,’ which means I can do a lot of things on a business level, but I have no social Dutch. Talking about the weather scares me, but I can handle shipment information. I’m terrified to order a sandwich (broodje) because I don’t know enough food terms. But I’m learning every single day and making a lot of progress.
As a corollary, als iemand met mij oefenen Nederlands wilt, stuur mij een bericht!
English and I’m fluent in American Sign Language and am learning British Sign Language right now. I also know a few phrases from Japanese, Italian and Russian Sign Languages and can have a basic conversation with Mexican and Puerto Rican Sign Language users. I can read and write basic spoken Spanish.
For those that aren’t aware, the sign language version of each language does not follow the spoken version; they’re independent languages. Also American and British sign languages not the same at all; they are not even a dialect of each other.
Actually, I speak every language except Greek. Ask me to speak something in a language.
Three.
Marathi, Hindi, English.
If you say only speak, then “Urdu” also, because Urdu and Hindi are almost same when spoken, but quite disparate in writing.
I studied Sanskrit, but have forgotten most of it. Learned German for a month or so. Very little “Kannada” as it is a neighboring state.
One plus half, and half…. You figure it out.
