I donated to Locks of Love one time and I did receive a thank you note.
I’d like to try a different one this time. Can anyone recommend a good one?

Why not use the reliable and courteous LoL again? Variety is often not the spice of life.
Good for you for the donation. How long is your hair?
According to the tape measure, almost 20 inches. I’m making it a tradition every time my hair meets the length requirement.
The only other idea I can come up with is calling St. Jude’s children’s research hospital. If they don’t take dknations directly, they probably can name organizations they work with. Locks of Love is the most well known, and I believe they are reliable. I live 20 miles from St. Jude’s, but my husband sent his hair to LoL. I just didn’t think of calling the hospital at the time.
I don’t know the answer to your question, but I think you are terrific for doing this.
My boss did this last year. She gave it to a program that made wigs for cancer victims.
How giving it to The Human Fund, in honor of George Castanza?

“My boss did this last year. She gave it to a program that made wigs for cancer victims.”
Does your boss remember the name of that program?
Oops, sorry. I didn’t read the question all the way.
Humane and animal rescue groups are nice to give to. I usually send a cash donation to my local food bank and one of the shelters/rescue groups.
Charity begins at home, find a local community charity that could use some assistance.
No need to go global when there is need right outside your own front door.
Okay, even though I am on vacation, and even though she isn’t my boss any more, I called and got the scoop.
Pantene Great Lengths will accept hair over 8 inches. Most will require at least 12 inches.
Another good charity is Locks of Love, but they do require 12”.
Oops, sorry..I missed the “hair” part…never mind, I don’t think anyone makes hair stuffed dog beds at the local shelters. haha
Locks of Love for cancer patients.
