I’d like to go to a hockey game at Lynah Rink. For the Harvard game.
North Carolina: the Piedmont near the Virginia line, and the Outer Banks
South Carolina: Pawley’s Island
Maine: that entire rocky coastline
Washington: San Juan Islands
That’ll do for starters.
In the happy times of my marriage; often that was on vacation with our kids.
College. Good times were had.
Several women’s private parts.
No seriously though, Savannah Georgia.
The upper peninsula of Michigan. It’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited.
On the Superman rollercoster at Six Flags Darien Lake.
The Shire.
Mordor is so cold and scary…
For locations: Blue Ridge Mountains, northeast Alabama, Glacier National Park, on a lake near Chester, CT, a spot just off Key West and during the flower season in Tucson.
For experiences: my college years, art school year and theater bootcamp summer.
For moments: laughing with my kids, spending time with my mom and close friends, and that very moment where I become lost in a good book or disconnect from the world when I’m writing or creating.
[upon seeing the next reply… Disney World would be heavenly too, if I didn’t have to pay for it, get sunburnt or wait in lines. Oh yeah, I did that- Grad Night!! XD]
Disneyworld is my favorite place, but only when the weather is good.
I really enjoyed Tahiti too.
The estate that was once Bill Graham’s “Masada” in Northern California. I’d turn it into a shared homebase for our family and a few friends to share.
Haifa
Bahamas
Sedona
San Diego
Lake Placid
I’ve travelled to all those places in our country except the upper peninsula of Michigan. I’ve even been to Sanity, well most of the time. : ) Lake Placid, The Adirondacks and the Finger Lakes is the favorite of this northeast gal.
Blissful ignorance
Victoria Island
That perfect day when it didn’t matter where I was, it only mattered who was by my side
and others too numerous to mention
@Cupcake Where did you stay in Lake Placid?
@Cupcake It was a campground on Whiteface Mountain. I don’t remember the name. Perhaps it was a KOA campground. We were travelling around in a Fifth Wheel RV.
@Adirondackwannabe We stayed here for a delayed anniversary trip this March (during that awful storm with many feet of snow). Boo hoo… we got snowed in. And now we’re having a baby. Hmmm…
Any other good lodging suggestions?
@comity Someday, I would love an RV.
I forgot about Jerusalem.
@Cupcake You may have been lucky to be snowed in. That’s a nice place but that god awful hill gets to you after awhile when you walk it a lot. I like the Golden Arrow almost directly below that place right on the lake. The Lake Placid Resort on the other end of town is nice too.
@Adirondackwannabe We only walked the hill once. Fortunately, we were able to get food delivered the other nights!
I’ll save your suggestions for our next visit.
@Cupcake We usually on the go constantly up there so we did the walk 5 to 8 times a day. On the plus side we ended the week in great shape.
A womb with a view….possibly.
Was in England in June this year, and loved it so much that we plan to go back for my 50th in 2014.
St Albans. It’s so beautiful.
What is it like in the airports. I have a friend who is older too and she finds it too difficult to travel now.
My favorite place is frozen in time, when all my aunts and uncles and cousins were in my Grandparents house for a huge holiday gathering. I don’t know how on earth they fit 12 adults and 15 children in the same place, but I remember sleeping with six kids in the bed, three at one end and three at the other.
Cape Cod. We went a whale watch. I remember thinking it was cool at the time, but I would appreciate it so much more now: I love whales. I wish I could remember it better. I would love to go on another.
Stresa Italy
Right on Lake Maggiore. Minutes from Lugano Switzerland. Absolutely gorgeous.
We were there for three days during our honeymoon fifteen years ago.
For me, it wasn’t just where I went but it was what I was doing. We lived in a relatively upscale neighborhood, sold our house when I retired, and hit the road full time travelling around the country, meeting all types of people, without a care in the world, for 3½ years. What fun and we got to see our kids more often, parked nearby, stayed for a time then travelled on. The best! Is there a time in your lives that you’d love to return to?
Between the sheets with the love of my life.
I can’t wait to go back to the highlands of Scotland. The most beautiful place I have seen.
