I am looking for a GLBT tax accountant in northern MD?

Are you looking for someone specific or do you just really want to find an accountant who’s gay (why?)?

If you’re asking for your comfort level, I remember when immigrants within my family first moved to this country in the New York City area. People in those days, moved into Jewish, Italian, Irish, etc. neighborhoods feeling comfort with their own. Today things have improved, not perfect but better. Here’s a firm in D.C., they might be able to give you a referral in MD and, for others, an explanation of some of the tax issues faced by GLBT folks.

You might try contacting this group. I used to live in Frederick, Maryland, and it’s a pretty gay-friendly place. Someone in the group can likely steer you in the right direction. Good luck!

I’m not sure if you’re looking for a personal reco or not, but the following glbt business directoriescan steer you to some names of CPAs which you can then check out on your own.

Obviously since Maryland is between them, the guides for both Philadelphia and Washington, DC should yield some names.

You could also call some of the other GLBT businesses and ask them whom they use to do their accounting and how they would rate them.
