When questions are removed from the site, do they still appear in web searches?
How do we get so many people here looking for people to follow their blogs? Is it just by chance? Or does a search for something like “get more followers” bring up posts from Fluther?

Maybe it is written about in the Help & Tips section of Tumblr?
“Question: How can I get lots of followers?”
“Answer: Post a request on Flutherdotcom; they love it!”
I’m sure they probably do. I’ve seen questions in my searches on here that are marked as deleted at the top. It doesn’t seem like they are truly deleted. It seems that when a question is deleted on here, it becomes a “closed” discussion. Maybe I’ll go look for one of those questions and look it up on Google for you. I remember one. Be back soon.
Edit:
I guess I was wrong.
I found this question when I looked up “redheads” on Fluther, but it doesn’t appear to show up anywhere on Google.
See the most recent meta question for one source of those annoying “follow my tumblr” questions.
I think questions that are removed are still on Google, but as time goes by they fall far from the top hits in a search.
^ I thought that might be true as well, but I tried the “fluther.com:” trick and the question I used as a test still didn’t seem to show up. I love abusing the website trick in Google searches when I’m only searching for content on that specific website because it limits searches down to that one specific site. :)
