The question has to do with the book Cry, The Beloved Country

Sorry, as a teacher, I don’t do homework

Yeah, we don’t do homework, here. If you come up with your own ideas we might help you organize them, or sort out some of your premises, but you really need to do the work yourself. And just curious, why would anyone trust strangers on the internet to not spout a load of crap that would make it obvious that you didn’t do your own work???

@JilltheTooth I already have some ideas down. I just wanted some insight on ways that I might approach the question. I’m not THAT lazy…

Give us some of your ideas then?

@bongo Well the fact that Jarvis has respect for Arthur despite not agreeing with him on some levels. Also the book is set in the mid-1940’s right after WW2 so the relationship between whites and black would still be very strained. The fact that Jarvis didn’t get violent with the blacks after learning a native killed his son, really says something about his character.

Thats what I have so far but I’m not sure if I’m on the right track

I’ve never read the book, but I’ll try and help.

If I had a question like this to answer, I might try focusing a bit on each character before I actually delve into their relationship. Then I might establish a pattern of behavior by discussing how each character interacts with other characters. Then I would start on the relationship between the two characters. I hope that helps. I wrote very few papers in my time at school. With a few exceptions, I bullshat every single one.
