I did my very first New Year’s Eve with Fluther

We are having another fire in the fire pit this year, but no gasoline will be involved this time. So who knows?

I’ll be stopping by, clean and sober, but still celebrating.

Most probably before 6 pm.——after that I’ll be ringing in the New Year with my family and doing family things to celebrate, like popping crackers, wearing party favor hats, and sipping champagne (the kids will sip apple cider!).

I will be sober since I can no longer drink more than 2 tablespoons of alcohol without ill effect. I’ll be the driver. But to participate vicariously, I’ll want to know what you’re drinking.

Non drinker here but we have to go to a party. I don’t want to go, there is a basketball game in town and I would much rather go to that, but I can’t. So I will probably stop in when we get home from the party, unless I am too sleepy. Of course, it is new year’s day morning here when it is new year’s eve for most of you all.

I don’t have any plans, so it’s that, watching movies or getting trophies on Trine 2. If I don’t get them all before the year rings in. Which I prolly will. Lol. Man I’m sure to put on some pounds in this vacation, all I’ve been doing is sleeping and sitting around lol. I knew I was meant to be a god.
But yeah, chances are, I’ll be on here. Things might change, someone might invite me somewhere, but otherwise, ain’t go no plans.

I’m going to cook a pot roast and duck with orange sauce and probably, leg of lamb as well. Bought some booze already and will buy more tonight. But what I really want to do when the clock strikes twelve on New Year’s is bitch slap Kim Kardashian twelve times! Lol.

I’ll probably drop in, I have no plans. I live in the hills and unless I go to a certain event or private party where I spend the night or get a hotel, I don’t go out on New Years.

I’m not going out so I’ll almost certainly be doing something online. For the few minutes before and after midnight I’ll be watching the new years entertainment and fireworks on TV.

The big “city” I use that term lightly near us has a all-night party on Main Street. It’s sorta like Times Square, only a heck of alot smaller. So that’s where I’ll be.

Well, as far as Fluther is concerned, @rooeytoo gets it the earliest. We’ll depend on him to tell us whether or not it’s safe to ring in the new year. Because we don’t want to be celebrating the begginning of a terrible year, now do we?

I don’t know. It all depends on what I feel like doing from moment to moment.

I will probably drop in, but I don’t know how long I’ll be on. I have to work until 7pm that night, which means I won’t be home until 8pm (if I’m lucky). We are planning to have a family game night while watching the ball fall on tv. Then I have to get some sleep so I can get up and go back to work in the morning (my alarm goes off at 5am).

For the first time in years, we’re actually going somewhere on New Years Eve. So, probably not.

But, since I’ll likely have my phone with me, I may pop in to wish y’all a happy new year.

mazingerz88 Here it is 11 minutes after midnight and I am fluthering My duck is marinating. I wasn’t able to get Szechuan peppercorns (bad planning!) so I substituted paprika. My husband doesn’t like things hot anyways so hopefully it will turn out ok. Man what a project! I starrted too late to have it for tonight. I forgot that you are supposed to marinate. I have made it once before. First you marinate, then you steam, then you air dry with a fan for 2 hours, then you fry it. Yes! Fry it, you read that right. The five spice mixture is actually the easy part. You can buy that premixed at the store. It’s a Chinese blend of spices.Hope you had a Happy New Year’s Eve!
