Which is better, the new, 2012 Netflix or the new, 2012 Blockkbuster?

I had a Netflix account for about two years. At first, we could get one movie at a time by mail for $9/month. After a while online “streaming” was added, and the price went to $10 per month for both services. It was great. When they suddenly raised the price to $17 per month, I put my account on hold, partially as protest and partially because I really didn’t need it. It is almost time to reinstate the account.
Now I see Blockbuster is advertising a package at $10 per month but I’m not sure of the details. (It is hard to tell.)
Since competition is what makes the world go ‘round, which service should I choose, Blockbiuster or Netflix?
I see this question was asked in 2009 and 2009. A lot has changed since then.

Just for clarification: are you looking for a streaming service only, a dvd service only, or a combo?
We are torn… The mail has many more movies but the streaming is instant. The service we had before offered both at a reasonable price.
There is no instant play with Blockbuster. Unless you’re willing to wait for something in the mail and/or drive to the nearest BB store, Netflix is the only viable option.
well, there’s Amazon Instant Video too, but their selection is tiny compared to Netflix’s
@MrItty Amazon Prime video has actually gotten a lot better in the past few months. I found a lot of stuff there that Netflix didn’t have 8 months ago.
I’d say Netflix, if you want both. Other services only offer the one. In terms of streaming selection, it’s rather hard to say, because so much has changed in the past 6 months, and I’m having trouble finding any extra-recent comparison articles (the most recent is September, but I know there was some Netflix development in October of a serious nature, so I don’t really trust the article to be up-to-date).
I also have a Roku box if that matters.
You can try a one-month trial with both of them (you will qualify for a new one-month trial if it’s been a couple years since you were last with them).
Just so you know, the rise is price was due to the movie industry wanting more in royalties and not any provider.
I have been a member of both BlockBuster and Netflix. I would take Netflix hands down over Blockbuster, especially if you are getting DVD by mail.
Blockbuster delays your delivery by days on end without a reason. With Netflix by mail, I always have a new movie 2 days after I mail it back. With BlockBuster, it would be up to a week at times. They would try to say it was the USPS fault, but Netflix has proved they have that service streamlined and solid.
BlockBusters customer service sucks.
