What is a good, inexpensive place to go during Spring Break?
I suggested Disneyland, (Simply because I am, and always will be, a child) But that is out of the question.
So what is a good, inexpensive place to go for a week that isn’t THAT far from Connecticut?

Connecticut’s a big state. From where? What’s your budget? Driving or flying (or taking the bus)? Outdoor activities, such as spring skiing on Mt. Washington, city living with culture, food and hotels, such as you’d find in Boston and Cambridge?
How many people?
Connecticut is not a big state.
A ski trip to one of the resorts in Vermont or New Hampshire.
You can always take the train into NYC or Boston and visit the museums.
Or pack the car and drive until you see something that interests you or your travel partners.
C’mon…cram a whole bunch of friends into a VW microbus and drive down to Florida (extra points if it has peace signs and psychadelic flowers painted all over it) in one non-stop trip and camp out on the beach (or split the price of a cheap roadside motel among everyone). It’s a rite of passage to do that!
It would be a perfect time to get in some volunteer work
Bermuda! Gorgeous place. Or Maine. I’ve always wanted to visit.
@HungryGuy
That sounds great… except for the fact that I’m going with my parents and my brother. xD
@NostalgicChills – Parents are absolutely forbidden to accompany their college-age kids on spring break! That’s the law!
What if you hook up with some hunky guy and you both know you’re never ever going to see each other again after that week?
For cheap, I was going to suggest you go home. If ‘home’ is going with you, drive up through New York state and head for Rocheter and Niagara Falls. Lots to see and do.
Honestly, Mexico. Obviously not close to Connecticut, but everything is so so cheap once you’re there, and it really doesn’t deserve its bad rep. I flew there and back from MA last year for less than $300, stayed in a hostel for $10 a night, and ate amazing food, usually spending like $2. Probably less than a trip to a fancy ski resort or something when you factor in sleeping and eating!
@NostalgicChills – Oh, okay then. This is probably one of the last times you’ll get to go on vacation with your parents and brother as a family. Cherish it. You have a few wild and wooly spring breaks ahead of you sans chaperones…
