What's something that you like that is generally considered unpopular?
As I was walking down my apartment building’s stairs to do some laundry, I could hear a number of my neighbors as well as smell what someone was cooking quite strongly. I realized that I love these constant reminders that there are multiple people living in close proximity to me. However, I also know that this is something that many apartment-renters abhor about renting an apartment. This got me to wondering what you fine folk on fluther love that is a generally unloved by most people.
So, my fellow Jellies, what are some things that you love that everyone else seems to hate?

How about things that are popular and I can’t stand ‘em:
Twilight
Harry Potter
Glee
I’ll add more.
Cottage cheese
Nickelback
I kind of like the smell of skunk (in small doses, at least)
Furry porn, tentacle porn, spinach and reason.
Spinach
Stargate SG:1
Sushi
Kristen Stewart (What? She’s cute. I just pretend she was never in Twilight and all is well.)
Cows. (Most people like to eat them, but I like them as pets.)
Going to church..
Probably a lot of other things.
P.S. Pickled Eggs are SO good.
Right, I’ll throw in another vote for “pickled eggs are the shit.”
I also like to eat them with beet horseradish, which is probably not very popular.
I also like the smell of skunk.
I also like cottage cheese and olives.
Raw garlic.
Kitschy home decor.
I think if I sit here long enough, I can just get my answers from everyone else. Apparently.
@sinscriven I love olives. I eat them with pepperoncini for a snack.
Also, I love cottage cheese. Everyone I know..LOVES it. We have to hide any cottage cheese we buy, or it’ll be gone before we get any.
@LezboPirate Your love of cottage cheese makes me almost overlook you wanting a cow for a pet. :)
Oh, why thank you.
I love Xena: Warrior Princess as well. Do I still make the cut?
Yes, I used to watch that too. Don’t tell anyone.
Being single.
Choosing to be single is not very popular considering most people feel that romantic relationship is the end all and be all of the universe. lol
I love mushrooms, which most people think are disgusting. The food, obviously.
Rice is also super good with butter and sugar on it, even though it sounds gross! It’s also super unhealthy though, so I rarely eat it like that anymore. :-(
I love both of those things!
Another thing, Cow are perfectly lovely. That the thing that gets you? Not Kristen Stewart? Really?
Fruitcake.
Dress codes for nice restaurants.
Driving a manual transmission car.
I like liver and kidney. Nobody else will eat it so I don’t have it very often.
I like mushrooms and brussel sprouts too.
I love cottage cheese, opera, choral music, I drive a stick shift. none of which is going to bother the neighbors. (Sound is not overly loud.) I don’t like barking dogs, but I seldom hear them, so they are minor irritants to me. Crying babies are acceptable.
@rebbel
I now have to officially deny your humanity.
Garlic breath, eating with my hands, body odor.
Classical music is the big one for me.
Grindcore/Jazz/Soul/Old R&B
REAL Chinese cuisine. None of that lame watered down Panada Express bullshit.

Throw me on the cottage cheese bandwagon, too.

P.S. I love cottage cheese, raw beets, going to _my_dentist,
I like having a best male friend who tells me what he feels I need to hear, regardless of whether or not it’s something I want to hear at the time. I like that he doesn’t always support my decisions. It’s earned him my respect and my trust. It seems unusual for people to appreciate a friend of theirs who can be that open and honest, but maybe I am wrong…
@Kardamom I was going to ask for your hand in marriage but Liberace? I’m screaming as I run into the woods.
@AnonymousGirl Give it a shot. If you find someone that you can totally trust the result is magical.
Nikki (my partner): George Michael, flannel clothing, my body odor, smell of gas, jam spread on toast before she dips it into her runny eggs.
@Jude My body odor. Ok I’m turned on, but I can’t spell anything today. Fuck it, give me a smell and I’ll make up my mind.
@Adirondackwannabe I asked her this question over the phone. She was spewing out her answers and I was typing them out. :) Her words.
@Jude You’re right. A woman smells devine. Love you lady.
@LezboPirate Xena had killer thighs. Imagine those squeezing your head.
I love a lot of things that don’t seem to be popular with my own age group. Barbra Streisand and Barry Manilow for example. Like you @KatawaGrey I also like living in close proximity to others. I can’t think of any other exaples off the top of my head right now but I shall return if I do.
Edit: I thought of one already. Whilst I don’t smoke I love the smell of a cigarette!
Nonreligious theism, criticising self-help authors on their own blogs, Dr. Warren Farrell’s material, introversion, 80’s metal, electricity, ECM theory, chess and alot more.
@Adirondackwannabe I fell in love with Liberace (Lee to us insiders) after I visited the now defunct Liberace Museum in Las Vegas. He had a very interesting life story. Then it all got worse when I saw a fellow called Waylond Pickard at a theater, doing much more than an impersonation, but a real Liberace-style show and me and my best friend were hooked. My folks and her folks have also seen him and everybody was thrilled. I remember watching Liberace specials on TV with my Dad when my Mom was going to night school, so my whole family has always liked him, but it was really surprising when I, in my mid 40’s, became enamored with him. Me and my best friend have visited both of his homes in Palm Springs and Las Vegas and we eat at his restaurant (that he owned when he was still alive) Carluccio’s Tivoli Gardens in Las Vegas whenever we get out there. Fantastic Italian food! If you ever see any of his old shows on Youtube, you can see that he, even as a flagrantly gay man, had all the women charmed, me included. Swoon!
Klezmer music…..not considered cool
Gypsy music…considered totally cool
They are more alike than different
I often do..
Just saying.
