Can you suggest some memorable pieces of artwork from comic books?

Specifically, coloured artwork, which means most manga are probably off the list.
Note that, while I initially was aiming for memorable either plotwise, graphically or both, for all intents and purposes presentation is the most important part. Bonus points if it’s a particularly memorable event as well.
The idea is printing as many of them out as I can and cover my bedroom wall with it, since I recently took down most of my old posters. So far I’ve got some very good covers and some memorable moments form my favourite comcs (Spider crying from Transmetropolitan, John Horus informing the world that he has executed the president from Black Summer, Dream’s threat to hell itself from Sandman, Dick Grayson in his first appearance as Batman).

An image from my favorite but it might not be quite as colorful as what you’re going for
I can’t really remember the backstory or even if this was the exact same cover I had in mind, oh dear, but one of the most memorable xmen covers for me was at least similar to this. Great conveyance of emotion and overall a good piece of art in my opinion.
(In fact, back when I bought those comics I often tended to like the cover art more than the comic itself…)
A cover featuring ‘Iron Jaw’. Iron Jaw killed people by biting them. It was the beginning of my mother screening any comic book I brought into the house. I still remember it, but I have no idea if it was ‘art.’
@Blueroses Good one, will look for the hi-def version that IS hi-def, i’m just really dumb.
@GrayTax Holy shit. And i was just lacking an X-Men cover too.
@Sunny2 What comic is he from?
@Thammuz I have no idea. This was a long time ago.
@SavoirFaire Very good ideas
@Seelix The one from sandman is very good, the one from spiderman is kinda small though.
Here’s a few of my favorites…
Jim Steranko : Nick Fury, Agent of Shield. LINK
Travis Charest : Captain America. LINK
Barry Windsor Smith : Weapon X (Wolverine). LINK
Paul Smith : Kitty Pryde (X-Men) LINK
@Thammuz – You’re right, it is small, but it’s memorable :) Not so good for your purposes, I guess.
Another cover that struck me recently is this Daredevil cover by Paolo Rivera. Depicting the world as sounds – it just struck me as amazing.
