What's with the weather, or have you ever been to a Winter Living Celebration, and it's 50 degrees F?
Went to the celebration, they were advertising sleigh rides, cross country skiing, dog sled rides, and snow shoeing. Guess what?

Yeah, winter does feel really late this year. It was like a gorgeous day in early spring… except, it is January in NE Ohio. It’s nice out, but I miss my Ohio winter. Hoping it is on its way, and for NY as well.
It was really cold here in Florida the past few days. Today was nice though. Had a couple of frosts this week. Just saying. ; )
It was really warm today in the mid-atlantic, in Delaware, 65 degrees. Very strange for January, but I’m not sure if it was a record. An absolutely beautiful day today.
This is a weird winter. Yesterday and today it was more than 60 degrees outside. In January!
Heh..yesterday I went for a long walk that left me drenched in sweat by the time I got home. How silly of me to think I’d need a coat in January….
Us Northern Californians are in big trouble. NO rain, NO snow, none, zero!
We have had only trace amounts of rainfall since early October.
This is the second driest Dec./Jan. in 80 years.
I have never seen the Sierras with zero snowcap at this time of year in memory.
Our ski resorts are bust, and right now, through tomorrow, my county is on high wildfire alert with wind and low humidity.
Temps, are going from freezing to mid-30’s at night to mid 60’s during the day.
It’s a gorgeous evening right now, full moon, clouds going by, but no rain in the extended forecasts.
We have gone from record snowfall last year to drought conditions.
Really not looking good right now. :-(
I’m having trouble keeping the kids from getting in the swimming pool, at least until I let them put their toes in.
It’s been warm here in Memphis too. Makes me very happy. But, we did have an extremely early snowfall this winter, I think it was the first week of December, and we certainly have had some cold temperatures. But, overall it has been a warm winter season here also, but not extremely unusual.
I love the way the New York Times described it. Unseasonably Mild. : )
It’s because last month I bought a new, 10 hp, walk-behind snow blower with power steering assist, and heated hand grips. I have not had a chance to use it.
You’re welcome!
Here in New England, we got nailed with a wet, sloppy snow storm…at the end of October.
Since then, it’s been mostly 40s and 50s, mostly sunny.
Very strange.
Well…it is 2012…the end is near. ;-) lol
@Coloma Ha ha ha…what are the chances the Mayans are actually correct? Gotta live to the hilt these next few months just in case! : )
@mazingerz88
Haha, yep, slide out sideways wine in one hand, happy brownies in the other. :-D
…and your fingers tightly wound around heated, vibrating hand grips.
@LuckyGuy
I can’t help think that those vibrating heated hand grips might have multiple uses. lol ;-P
So it blows and vibrates?!
@cprevite, @Coloma The grips are heated, have a soft rubber coating, and are 6 inches long with a 5½ inch girth. When the machine idles, they vibrate quite suggestively. Coincidence?
No need for sitting on the washing machine during the spin cycle..
And the sound drowns out any screams of ecstasy.
I can rent it out for parties. Hey, I might as well get some use out of it.
@LuckyGuy
Does it come with a warning about not using it for purposes other than intended, you know, like the warnings on flea medications. lol
I think a dribble of Advantage between my shoulder blades would be a good pre-hike tick preventative. haha
@Coloma The instructions did say something about making the earth move.
I’m salivating over here.
