What is one food that makes you say "yuck"?

Asked by Charles (4826points) January 8th, 2012

I have two actually, liver and gifelta fish. I’d have to be starving for a week to eat either.

Liver and onions. Have you SMELLED it cooking?

rebbel's avatar

Carrots (boiled, raw I can stand them).

Aster's avatar

@rebbel I feel the same way. lol

Prosb's avatar

Mashed potatoes. I can’t taste them well, and their texture immediately triggers my gag reflex.

keobooks's avatar

Those nasty little red radishes some people put in salads—they don’t even taste like food to me.

Lightlyseared's avatar

Surströmming. I have a strong stomach but this stuff made me think twice before I ate it.

Fried eggs

Liver and Lamb.

Brains.

MilkyWay's avatar

Liver, brains, cow’s tongue, chicken feet, kidneys, es cargo and sushi.

CREAM???!!!!! Oh. You must mean face cream. Of course. That would be yucky to eat.

MilkyWay's avatar

^ Really? My mum makes a wicked eggplant curry… I bet you’ll love it if you try it :)

GoldieAV16's avatar

Head cheese. Just typing the name makes me gag.

Dutchess_III's avatar

^^^ Agree!
What is your recipe for eggplant @MilkyWay? I’ve only had it once, many years ago, and I think I liked it.

downtide's avatar

@Dutchess_III you’re right, face cream would be awful to eat. But so is the dairy sort, you know, what people put on desserts and stuff. I’m dairy intolerant anyway so even if I liked it I couldn’t eat it. But I think an early childhood of being made to drink my milk and eat my pudding, usually followed by feeling very ill, put me off thinking that dairy produce* is even food.

(*cheese and yogurt are an exception, being fermented I can tolerate them).

Mayonnaise
Vinegar

Oh man @everephebe. Fried onions are sooo yummy.

I just got a headache, reading that. @Dutchess_III
:D Fried onions give me massive headaches, I have an allergy to onions.

I can not look at any food that has fat dripping off it. I can not eat any red meat or fatty pork.
I can not eat foods I know are not actually nutritional. They do not taste good since I learned about how my body actually Metabolizes food.

downtide's avatar

@Dutchess_III I can’t have ice-cream either.

Joker94's avatar

Tomatoes. I can eat anything made from tomatoes; soup, sauce, ketchup, etc., but actual factual tomatoes just taste awful.

Also, kugel. Tasted like a smurf’s asshole..

@MilkyWay summed it up for me :)

partyrock's avatar

Black licorice…. liver…. pig’s feet… and beer o_O

Sunny2's avatar

Coffee flavored anything. The bitterness makes me shudder.

Harold's avatar

Beetroot and coffee.

Seafood, seafood!!

Berserker's avatar

Blood pudding. eeeeew [puke]

Kardamom's avatar

@MilkyWay come to think of it, I have had an Indian curry called Bharta, that was made with eggplant and I did like it quite a bit. Thanks for reminding me of that : )

Pretty much every other incarnation of eggplant including eggplant parmesan, grilled eggplant or ratatouille has made me gag. It’s not so much the taste, but the texture which reminds me of slippery, wet, waterlogged corrugated cardboard.

shego's avatar

Balut, chitterlings, hominy, and chocolate (its a new one since my accident)

cazzie's avatar

Blood pudding is up there, but also Lutefisk! BLAH! Thankfully, I escaped it this year. Hubby usually insists on a Lutefisk party around New Year, but he hasn’t felt up to it.

keobooks's avatar

I don’t like these flavors: Anise and fennel. Anything flavored with these spices becomes instant yuck.

Supacase's avatar

Tripe – I’ve never eaten it. Looking at it is more than enough.
Boiled cabbage
Circus peanuts

@Kardamom I knew it! <3
@Dutchess_III I’ll PM you the recipe later darling :)
