I’ve seen a lot of good brands or spin-off brands go in my short seventeen years on this planet, and I thought it’d be appropriate to give them a good and proper internet burial. If you’d care to pay your respects, please do.
Some part of me is always gonna miss Doritos 3D’s, partially because of how awesome they tasted, and partially because no other period in history other than the late nineties could have given birth to such a ludicrous concept. Also, Crispy M&M’s. Pretzel M&M’s are good, but…nothing will ever truly fill the void they’ve left.

Tab. Used to drink it all the time.
The original Vegetable Thins that were shaped like vegetables. The replacements are too bland and rectangular. Also, mushroom flavored Maruchan ramen. I’m told it’s still made, but I cannot find it anywhere.
@zenvelo Tab isn’t around anymore?! I swear I’ve seen it before!
@SavoirFaire I don’t even fancy Vegetable Thins and I think that’s inhuman.
Nelson’s Treasure Bar, Lowney’s Cherry Blossom.
@Joker94 I have heard rumors of Tab being available on some black market, with the product hoarded by those in the know until another shipment appears. But I haven’t seen a can of Tab in 30 years.
Hagan das, white Russian ice cream.
Green Goddess salad dressing. It went the way of Tab. lol
String things and Dunkaroos.
I know it sounds gross, but Choco Donuts cereal was so good.
And I absolutely loved Wonder Balls when I was little!
@XOIIO Vanilla Coke is now back on the market in addition to Vanilla Coke Zero! I found it again about a half year ago and was extremely excited. Still difficult to find, though.
As a drink: Purple Passion (made by canada dry).. I’ve written them numerous times as to why they discontinued it (at least in my state) and if it’s available anywhere else but to date, no response.
As a food: Peter Pan Chili.. Yes, I know.. A terrible name for a brand of chili but after I opened one and saw actual bbq beef inside and sampled it’s goodness, I was totally sold. Can’t even find the company now.. Also snider’s ketchup (best and thickest ever) but I think I found one recently (at least by name) but the product was generic.. Oh well.
@zenvelo I saw Tab at WalMart recently, right next to the Squirt. Check your nearest WalMart.
I miss the original Taco Bell Cinnamon Crispas- not those airpuffed Twists, no, but the triangular Crispas.
Mothers Cookies’ Iced Raisin. After Mothers went bankrupt, another company bought them, and brought back some of the cookies, but not these.
Tab? That stuff tasted like cow piss. Warm cow piss.
@filmfann Oh, no, say it ain’t so. I loved Mother’s Iced Raisin cookies!
@Adirondackwannabe
It wasn’t that bad! lol, Hey, it helped me keep my girlish figure, who cares if diet sodas are toxic, as long as you have a nice ass. lol
Hey…does anyone rememembr a soft, crumbly cheddar cheese packaged as ” Club cheddar cheese.”?
That’s another product that has been gone for years and years. Oh, I miss my club cheese too!
@Coloma It was that bad. At least cow piss doesn’t have an aftertaste.:)
@wilma Are you sure you want to know how?
@YoKoolAid Oh, wow… Mario/Link cereal. I had forgotten about that. I am far too prone to nostalgia to keep following this question.
Oh wait, never mind. The cow piss discussion has cured me for the moment.
In a tie stall barn, there’s a trench (the gutter) behind the cows with a barn cleaner, basically paddles on a chain, that the farmer uses to carry away the cow’s manure and urine. It’s usually cleaned once a day and the wastes are disposed of. Unfortunately the cows tend to put their tails in the gutter and get them soaked with manure and urine. When you milk the cow they tend to swish their tails. Yup, right in the face.
@linguaphile Yes! The original Taco Bell crispas were so much better.
I miss the original peanut butter Twix – they now use a chocolate cookie and I don’t like it at all.
There was a short-lived snack that was only popcorn kernels that didn’t pop or were only partially popped. I really liked those.
There are several other things I miss that are still made but difficult to find.
Taco Bell’s Enchirito.
Keebler’s Lemon Coolers cookies.
Shake a Puddin’ (one of the flavors was butterscotch and my grandma always kept them in her pantry for me and my brother, yum!)
Pepperidge Farms lemon turnovers
Flavor Ice Pops, the precursor to Otter Pops. When I was a little kid, it was a treat for me and my friends to go to the liquor store in the summertime to get a flavor ice pop and a bag of Barbecue flavored Laura Scudder’s potato chips (Scroll down to the 2nd image, that’s the one from the 1960’s that I remember)
Funny Face Drink (competitor to Koolaid)
But I am very happy to report that Taco Flavor Doritos are back complete with the vintage bag! I saw these at the store last month and after having a weepy, nostalgic moment bought them and thankfully, they tasted just like I remembered.
And BBQ corn chips (also by Laura Scudder’s) called Wampum
@YoKoolAid I read about those! I think there was a Super Mario Bros. Soda in existence there for a while, too.
@Fly Wonderballs! My God! I had completely forgotten about those!
@linguaphile @Supacase @Kardamom For you taco/Dorito enthusiasts, I think you might enjoy something coming down the tubes..
I liked Funfruits. They were like gummy bears, but a bit harder and took longer to eat. They had several themes. Boxes that came with a few bags of treats, like space themed stuff. Rockets, planets. They had a bunch of generic themes that I can’t quite remmeber anymore.
But I loved eating those while watching cartoons or playing games. My dad also packed them in my lunches. It’s the whole classic thing…too many red and yellow gummies, and not enough purple and blue ones, which always tasted best. The company itself isn’t discontinued as far as I know, but that particular product of theirs I had from the early nineties bit the dust long ago.
I also loved Gushers, although when those came out, I was a bit too old to really feel the magic. :/ Growing up and loosing your Funfruits sucks.
@XOIIO They are? What about Fruit RollUps? Those still exist? (although I think those are nasty lol)
Next I’ll be asking if Smarties are still around lol…
@Symbeline Yes, Smarties are still around, my daughter came home with a bunch on Halloween.
