Good Places to Live in Brooklyn?
I’ve seen this thread on here but the answers all seem to be over a year old. So I wanted to ask again. My fiance and I are moving to Brooklyn from DC (Columbia Heights area) and are looking for a relatively safe neighborhood with access to restaurants, grocery, etc. Doesn’t have to be hipster central and we’re looking to pay in the $1,500 – 2,000 range for a 1 bedroom. Any suggestions/tips/info you can provide would be a HUGE help. Thanks!

Consider Kensington, Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Windsor Terrace.
Move to Downtown San Diego East Village. Having a sunset across the ocean every night would be amazing! I’ve seen a lot about Williamsburg and although it may be a place where the general cite people as, “hipster” I’d like to think of it as a place full of motivated and creative culture and peoples.
I lived in the Park Slope neighborhood in the mid 90’s and loved it. Back then 7th Ave was main drag, but I understand the area has undergone massive gentrification since then, so some of the lower Ave’s (especially 4th and 5th) have probably been built up quite nicely.
Park Slope also features the largest Food Co-op in the Unites States, if you’re inclined to that sort of thing. Great neighborhood if you can afford it.
Bay Ridge isn’t bad especially by the bridge…a lot of what you need to spend in Brooklyn is directly proportional to ease into NYC so if you are not working in NYC there are a few places down the subway line that are nice and more reasonably priced
Carroll Gardens is nice: Park Slope is lovely.
Thank you so very much for the feedback. We hadn’t even considered Windsor Terrace, Kensington or Bay Ridge, so thanks for the heads up!
Brooklyn Heights, Williamsburg, Carrol Gardens
