What email client should I sign my grandparents up for?

Asked by ohVaNiLLaGoRiLLa (179points) January 10th, 2012

My grandparents currently share a Verizon email account which was no problem when they only had a desktop. But now my grandmother has acquired a laptop and wishes to check her email on it. This should not be a problem but apparently once you view an email with Verizon it takes it off the server because if an email is read on their desktop she cannot receive it on her laptop. >_>

I use yahoo mail and also have a gmail account. I think that yahoo mail is way to cluttered with stuff for my grandparents to use. I am thinking that gmail is the way to go but is there anything out there that’s even more friendly?

I have Yahoo and T-Mobile and share it with my daughter.

Great service and no problems.

Your grandmother should be able to access Verizon through their webmail interface, and as long as shoe doesn’t delete it after reading (an option she should uncheck), she would be able to get her email on Verizon on the laptop.

I have yahoo and gmail accounts and find yahoo much easier. She will get used to it. If you use firefox you can disable pop ups and reduce the number of ads.
