Problem with mouse pad(see details)

Asked by Christian95 (3263points) January 11th, 2012

I have a really weird problem. My mouse pad stops responding just right after i log in my user( during the log in screen it works with no problems). I tried to fix its drivers but it says they work properly.I also tried reinstalling the driver but that didn’t change anything. If I use safe mode the mouse pad works even after i log in.If I connect a USB mouse it works just fine. I have Windows 7 Home premium and my laptop is a Sony Vaio VPCEH1M1E.What can I do?

It sounds like a conflict with the ports. It also sounds like you found a simple solution by using a wired mouse, using a USB.

Are you sure you didn’t turn on the trackpad lock by accident? Check for a light indicator or button near your trackpad.

@sinscriven I have done that before, so it it’s one of the first things I would check. On mine, it is Fn+F9 to turn my trackpad off/on.
