Do you use any homemade potions to reduce or eliminate wrinkles? If so, what do you use?

I’ve been told to use Aloe Vera gel for my skin; it’s supposed to moisturise and keep supple. I’m not sure how well it would do with wrinkles; it might make skin appear smoother. It’s simple to get (doesn’t really take any work to mix up) and shouldn’t have any added chemicals, which is usually a plus…

What’s worked for me, and I’m often told I don’t look my age, is don’t smoke; don’t sit in the sun and have a very young looking grandmother. Seriously, I don’t know anything but surgery that makes a difference in the long run. Creaming, using anything from Vaseline to $150 jars of special face cream, makes your skin feel smoother, but it doesn’t prevent wrinkles.

@Sunny2 have a very young looking grandmother

That’s good news for me then; I have no idea how old my grandma really is, but she’s definitely not as young as she looks

It isn’t homemade, but wearing broad spectrum sunscreen every single day, no matter the weather or the season, has proven to be the best wrinkle preventative for me.

I’ve worn sunscreen since the 1970’s before it was popular.

Sunscreen really is the best advise. When you look at identical twins who have lived in different climates, one locale having much more sunlight, the twin in the sun all the time looks much older, skin is more wrinkled, more leathery, and more discolored. The SPF sun protection protects against UVB rays and visible damage from the sun. It also blocks out vitamin D absorption. If your skin is close to the same color all over, even where you are always covered by clothing, you are probably vitamin D dificient, no matter what color your skin is. Get tested.

Aside from that staying moisturized and exfoliating every so often helps. You can exfoliate with sugar, but it is kind of large grains for the face. And, moisturize with vaseline at night.

Also, eating well will help, plenty of vegetables of every color, and some fruits.

Don’t let yourself get too thin. Having extremely low fat percentage and underweight combined usually equals grey, dry skin, with more wrinkles.

AHA’s were very popular back in the day for reducing wrinkles. Some scientist decided that since pineappe pickers had no fingerprints, fruit acids remove wrinkles, burning the surface layer if the skin. There might be some sort of home recipe for it?

Sunscreen, don’t smoke and pick your parents well. If you love the sun and smoke, forget about spending money to avoid wrinkles. There is no help for it.

I am 44 years old and am often taken for someone at least 10 years younger.

I am also a cosmetics formulator and know and see the worse and best. If you want to get an acid peel and carry on smoking, you are wasting your time. Cosmetic surgery will ALWAYS look horrible as you age. Avoid weight fluxuations, NO NOT smoke, get enough rest and learn to deal with stress and the NUMBER ONE piece of advice is pick your parents. Genetics has the biggest role to play when it comes to how you age on the outside. YOUR ATTITUDE plays the biggest role on how you are perceived by other people as you age. Grow up as you grow old and you will be respected and adored.
